Ted Matthews joins SOFIE as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As CFO, he is a member of the executive leadership team and has financial oversight for the organization. Ted has served as a leader in health care financial management for over 27 years, with previous experience in finance and accounting with a major accounting firm and as treasurer of a securities dealer, and a focus on strategic development and sustainable growth.

Throughout his extensive experience in healthcare, Ted strived to identify and develop future leaders in finance and throughout each company by encouraging a spirit of service, collaboration, and a continuous challenge to find ways to improve every aspect of the business. He credits his successes to the teams he has led, ensuring the right resources and environment necessary to achieve great things.

Ted holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

His commitment to community service includes serving as a volunteer, board member and officer on nonprofit boards. He is currently a board member and treasurer of Be the Bridge, a national nonprofit with a mission to equip the world to do the work of racial unity. He has served Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit committed to providing affordable homeownership opportunities for hardworking, low-income families, through chapters in Fort Worth and Austin, Texas, including terms as chapter President.
