Ajit Singh, PhD
Ajit Singh, PhD is a Partner at Silicon Valley-based Artiman Ventures and serves on the Board of Directors of several Artiman portfolio companies in Life Sciences and Healthcare. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of Medicine at Stanford where he teaches genomics-based diagnostics and entrepreneurship. He serves on the Board of Trustees of American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Foundation. Additionally, he is on the Board of Directors of Leo Cancer Care (UK), Sofie Biosciences (US), Artidis (Switzerland), Cadila Pharmaceuticals, and Max Antara Senior Living (India).
In the past, he has served as the global CEO of Siemens Oncology (2000 – 2005) and Siemens Imaging Systems (2005 – 2008). Subsequently, he was the CEO of BioImagene (2008 – 2010), a cancer diagnostics startup, acquired by Roche in 2010. Additionally, he served as the lead director on the Board of Directors of Max Healthcare in India for ten years (2009 – 2019) and as Senior Advisor to the Tata Trusts Cancer program (2017 – 2019).
He was also the Executive Chairman of Summer Bio, the largest Covid Testing lab in the US that performed 20 million PCR-based Covid tests during the two years of the pandemic – by creating a fully robotics-based lab from the ground up, with the shortest turnaround time and the lowest cost across the entire Covid-testing industry.
Ajit has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Columbia University, a Master’s in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Banaras Hindu University. He has published 2 books and 5 patents. His Top-10 Book Review is carried by various book blogs in December every year.
