Dr. Robert Bridwell, medical advisor to SOFIE, and co-founder of PETLinQ, is a board- certified physician in both Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine. He has extensive knowledge and experience in continuous quality improvement programs for PET and PET/CT imaging, utilizing physician empowerment training, protocol development assistance, and quality assurance guidelines. In this session, Dr. Bridwell will:

  • Review the major aspects of lung cancer, particularly the U.S. incidence and prevalence, stage at diagnosis, risks, survival rates, treatments and diagnostic approaches
  • Discuss the proper utilization of FDG PET/CT in Radiation Therapy Planning, Response assessment and Restaging of the disease
  • Detail the special application of FDG PET/CT in characterization of suspicious solitary pulmonary nodules and in the initial diagnosis and staging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
  • Review the role of FDG PET/CT for speci c patient groups, lesion types/sizes, and key imaging protocols (including partial volume effect and dual time-point imaging), as well as the challenges and limitations of the imaging modality for this disease indication
