In this session Robert S. Bridwell, MD, MBA, noted PET physician and educator will review the wide application of PET/CT in lung applications, including its roles in characterizing suspicious Solitary Pulmonary Nodules, and in Diagnosing, Staging and Restaging of lung cancers. He will also discuss the proper utilization of FDG PET/CT in Radiation Therapy Planning and Response Assessment. The challenges and limitations of the imaging modality for these disease indications will be detailed as well.

From Pharmacy to Patient - PET Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturing, Delivery and Clinical Utilization

This presentation will provide a detailed look at what it takes to produce and distribute a PET radiopharmaceutical dose, including the materials, expertise and processes necessary, as well as the regulatory and quality control aspects of ensuring safe radioisotopes for patient administration. It will review the challenges of coordinated scheduling and delivery of time-sensitive products, and the interaction with clinical staff at the imaging sites. The session will also include an overview of the potential impact of PET imaging on patient care management.

PET/CT in Oncologic Patient Care Pathways

In this session Robert S. Bridwell, MD, MBA, noted PET physician and educator will discuss approaches to appropriately integrating PET/CT and other advanced imaging modalities into oncologic patient care pathways. He will review initiatives which multi-disciplinary physician specialist teams can develop to ensure that the cancer patient receives the most effective diagnostic test at the appropriate time during their cancer care. He will also identify the challenges and opportunities facing health providers and imaging programs as the healthcare paradigm changes, including the impact of ACO’s, RBM’s and CIN’s on delivery of clinical care, the use of advanced imaging and coverage by healthcare payers.
